Week Notes W08-25
This week was a rough week. We had to put our eldest rabbit to sleep on Wednesday. K and I are still feeling down; Ging Ging was our first rabbit, and she lived a long and happy life (eleven years!). I plan to post a memorandum for her when I’m ready to write about it.
Not much else happened this week that was notable. We did find a few new places to try:
- I got my usual benchmark pastries, a custard bun and a hot dog bun, at a new local Chinese bakery. Their dough is fluffier than other places, but less flavorful. I’m unsure if I’ll put this bakery in our rotation.
- I tried pandesal and señorita bread from another local Filipino bakery. It’s pretty good, but I’m also unsure if I would drive out there just for these baked goods.
- K got a bunch of frozen dumplings, frozen steamed buns, and flaky sweet pastries at another new spot. She’s not a fan of the way they make the buns - she likes mine a lot better (yay!), except that means I’m still on the hook for making it occasionally.
