Ging Ging
Ging Ging, our first and eldest rabbit, passed away on February 19, 2025, due to complications found when dealing with a bout of GI stasis. The vets discovered she had an abdominal growth (some tumor and/or cyst) that put enough pressure on her insides that made her unable to eat, so we decided to put her to sleep. She was surrounded by us and her husbun Moe when she peacefully passed. She lived a long and happy life of eleven years.
Ging Ging was the kindest and most comfortable rabbit to us and the others. We have so many memories with her, so here are just a few:
- When we still lived in an apartment, we let her free roam. When she wanted to jump on the bed or table, she had her own special way of asking me to lend my back, so that she could jump up or down.
- My fondest memories are when I would lie down and she’d hop on my back and give me back massages and scratches.
- She knew her name when we talked to her. She even let us hold her when asked, but only sometimes. She definitely let us know when she had enough: she’d nip K pretty often, but she almost never nipped me.
Her husbun Moe has been adapting. Because his vision is poor, he relied on her cues a lot; he always followed her lead, and often stole her food! He has his own set of problems; our remaining rabbits are so old, but we’re all managing.
We miss her so much already and are thankful to have had her in our lives.
